The short version

Tour and activity cards on this site link to GetYourGuide, the platform most of the boat trips, guided walks and island tours on this site are sold on. Hotel links, the see stays buttons on where to stay, go through Stay22, which forwards you to Booking.com and pays us a commission on the same terms. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a commission out of its own margin. Your price is identical either way, and clicking costs you nothing.

We are not a tour operator or a travel agency. We sell nothing, take no payments and act as nobody's agent.

Who does what

We compare listings and link out. The platform takes your payment, issues the voucher and handles customer service, and the company named on the listing runs the actual tour, boat trip or transfer. If a departure is cancelled or a guide fails to show, that is resolved between you, the platform and the operator under their policies. We have no standing in that conversation and cannot refund or reschedule anything.

Park, garden and mountain admission is different. Where the official ticket office is the right place to buy, parquesnaturais.azores.gov.pt for Caldeira Velha and the regional reserves, montanhapico.azores.gov.pt for the Mount Pico ascent, parqueterranostra.com for Terra Nostra Garden, pocadadonabeija.com for Poça da Dona Beija and montanheiros.com for Algar do Carvão, the page links to it directly, with no tracking and no commission to us. The viewpoints, the crater rims and the tea factory visit are free and earn nothing at all, and the pages say so anyway.

What the commission does not buy

Placement, ratings, wording. Nobody has paid to appear on this site or to be described in a particular way, and no operator sees a page before it ships. Where a listing has a flaw that matters, a meeting point a ferry ride from where the day starts, a cancellation window shorter than the weather window, the page says so in the same breath as the price.

When two options do the same job, we name the one we would pick. That pick is not for sale, because the commission rate on this site does not depend on it.

Prices in dollars and euros

Ticket prices on this site are shown in euros first, because the euro is what you hand over, with a dollar figure in brackets converted at the European Central Bank reference rate on the date the page states. Cards on booking platforms show their prices in the currency the platform has set, which is why a card and the row beside it can differ by a rounding step. The euro figure is the one the venue sets, and the panel on what the Azores costs refreshes to the day's rate.
